The leading lady of Kannada cinema Smt. Parvathamma Rajakumar switched on the camera for the maiden shot of her son Shivarajakumar film ‘Devaru Kotta Thangi’ while Smt. Geetha Shivarajakumar sounded the clap board for the maiden shot. It was at the Bidadi Anjaneya Temple on Thursday morning.

This brother and sister height of affection ‘Devaru Kotta Thangi’ title is repeated after 33 years in Kannada cinema. It was for Dr. Rajakumar, Jayanthi, Srinath and BV Radha film directed by KSL Swamee (Ravee) this title was chosen in 1973 and the film was super hit in those days. Om Saiprakash of over 80 films director is producing his 10th Kannada film the 9th combination with Shivarajakumar besides writing story and screenplay. BA Madhu has written the dialogues. Avinash, Sumithra, Sadhu Kokila and others are also in the cast.

Dr. Rajakumar played the big brother to BV Radha then and now his first son Shivarajakumar is playing big brother to national winning actress Meera Jasmine. Monica is the counterpart to Shivarajakumar while Suraj of ‘Shivani And Neenyare’ Kannada films is playing husband role to Meera Jasmine. Meanwhile actress Radhika the permanent sister of Shivarajakumar on Kannada screen not available to this film forced director Saiprakash to contact Meera Jasminine. As Meera Jasmine had seen the Telugu version of ‘Akka Thangi’ of director Saiprakash it was easy for her to make out a decision. Om Saiprakash known for discipline and decency on Kannada screen is going in for IDBI loan this time for capital of this film ‘Devaru Kotta Thangi’.
